Drawing priorities

Separate adjustment, mounting and vacuum passage requirements

Threaded adjustment and an internal passage serve different functions. Define the mounting stack and the sealing interfaces instead of treating a thread callout as a complete vacuum specification.

  • Specify thread standard, pitch, fit and usable adjustment travel. Identify the locating shoulder, locking method and wrench access.
  • Define the passage diameter, connection geometry and sealing method. Mark internal edges, burr limits and cleaning requirements that affect the flow path.
  • Agree material grade, finished dimensions and sample records. Set leak-test conditions for the assembled gripper separately; a dimensional report does not establish vacuum holding force.

DEFINE YOUR PART

What needs to
be in your drawing?

Reference images explain geometry. Your approved drawing and agreed inspection records establish dimensions, material and acceptance requirements.

  • Thread standard, size and class
  • Engagement length and gauging method
  • Sealing surfaces, material and treatment
  • Drawing number, revision, units and material grade.
  • Surface treatment, sample quantity and repeat-order needs.
Use the complete RFQ checklist
01 / REVIEW

Resolve the requirements.

Share your drawing and the features that affect function. Agree material, process scope, inspection and commercial conditions.

02 / SAMPLE

Define what approval means.

Agree the sample quantity and measurements or assembly checks required for acceptance. Record the drawing revision used.

03 / REPEAT

Control the next order.

Retain the approved specification and packaging requirements. Review design, material or finish changes before repeat production.

Read the sample-to-production guide

Questions before
your drawing review.

Can you change the dimensions or material?

This is a custom component example. Submit your required geometry and exact material grade for feasibility review; the reference image is not a fixed catalogue specification.

What quantity and lead time should I plan for?

Include both sample and production quantities plus your target date. The quotation confirms the agreed scope, price and schedule after review.

Can I send confidential drawings?

If your project needs an NDA, contact Alen before uploading confidential files. Website submission itself does not create a confidentiality agreement.
