Use these examples to explain the geometry. Include a current dimensioned drawing to define the actual part.
Define the mounting face and centre reference before dimensioning the hole pattern. Show whether the assembly locates on a bore, outside diameter, pilot or fasteners.
Identify faces that seat or seal and state their actual requirements. Discuss flatness and surface condition with the part geometry; a general finish note does not describe every functional interface.
Check fastener access, counterbores and clearances in the assembled condition. For a cover, include the mating envelope and the requirements for removing or fitting the part.
