Stainless tube: coordinate the wall, ends and hole pattern

A tubular component needs a clear relationship between its bore, wall and secondary openings. Use this stainless steel tube series to define length, end condition and any perforation pattern, then agree how the finished part will be supported and inspected.

01 / THE BUYING QUESTION

Which tube dimensions and openings control the assembly, and under what condition should they be measured?

02 / READ THE GEOMETRY

Details that shape
the requirement.

01

Bore and outside profile

Specify the required inside and outside geometry together with the wall requirement. Identify the sections that enter or locate against mating components.

02

Tube ends

Define end faces, entry edges and any seating features. State whether end-to-end length or a particular installed projection controls the application.

03

Secondary openings

Where your design needs perforations, show their size, pattern and position. Identify internal edges and any inaccessible areas requiring a separate inspection approach.

ONE PART. THREE BUYING DECISIONS.

What matters
to your team?

Define the functional interfaces.

Define the tube as part of the assembly. A wall requirement, outside fit and internal passage can each serve a different function.

03 / A PART-SPECIFIC REVIEW

From feature
to machining brief.

01Identify the tube’s function

Provide the mating interfaces and explain whether the tube guides, contains, covers or carries a passage. Include relevant operating conditions without selecting requirements solely from the product name.

02Agree support and edge requirements

Review wall sections and the support condition used for dimensional inspection. Define edge treatment at ends and openings, together with any required internal cleaning condition.

03Set the sample evidence package

Select the dimensions, hole-pattern checks and surface observations to record. If a functional flow or pressure test is needed, provide a separate specification and assign responsibility.

04 / BEFORE SAMPLE APPROVAL

Agree what
acceptance will show.

  • Measure the specified bore, outside sections and length in the agreed condition.
  • Verify any required opening pattern and designated internal-edge condition.
  • Check the agreed cleaning, handling and packing requirements.
