01 / THE BUYING QUESTION
Will the sleeve be accepted as a free component, in its housing, or through both checks?
02 / READ THE GEOMETRY
Details that shape
the requirement.
Internal bore
Define the bore section that guides or clears the mating component. Include entry geometry, useful engagement length and any surface requirement tied to the intended motion.
Outside seating surface
Identify the outside section that seats in the housing. Give the mating bore information and specify whether insertion, retention or removal needs a separate assembly evaluation.
Flange and wall section
Mark the flange contact face and its position relative to the bore. Review the remaining wall around steps and the support available during measurement.

What matters
to your team?
Define the functional interfaces.
Use the full mating stack when defining the sleeve. A bore size alone does not describe the relationship to the flange or housing.
Discuss your engineering requirementsMake the quotation comparable.
Confirm whether assembly fixtures, mating samples or extra inspection records are part of the quotation. Identify who supplies each item.
Discuss your purchasing requirementsAgree the acceptance evidence.
Agree how the sleeve is supported for measurement and how results are recorded. Document the state of the part for every critical reading.
Discuss your quality requirements03 / A PART-SPECIFIC REVIEW
From feature
to machining brief.
01Establish the two mating interfaces
Provide the housing and inserted-part references alongside the sleeve drawing. State which component establishes location and which interface must allow movement, clearance or assembly adjustment.
02Define measurement condition
Agree whether the critical sizes are checked in the free state, installed state or both. Describe any support, fixture or conditioning needed so supplier and receiving checks are comparable.
03Separate part checks from assembly checks
Create a short sample plan covering the sleeve dimensions and the intended assembly trial. Record each outcome against its own requirement before releasing the first production quantity.
04 / BEFORE SAMPLE APPROVAL
Agree what
acceptance will show.
Measure the specified bore and outside sections in the agreed part condition.
Check flange thickness and seating-face relationships from the nominated references.
Inspect bore entries, internal edges and contact faces to the drawing requirements.
