01 / THE BUYING QUESTION
Which attachment surface sets the plate position, and can the fasteners be installed in the proposed assembly?
02 / READ THE GEOMETRY
Details that shape
the requirement.
Attachment faces
Mark the faces that contact the mating structure. Define their relationship to each other and identify which face establishes the primary assembly reference.
Central mounting opening
Specify whether the opening clears a component, receives a fastener or provides access. Include the mating envelope and edge conditions appropriate to that function.
Angled form
Show the required angle and its relationship to the attachment interfaces. Include surrounding components so the review can address tool access and the installation sequence.

How will tool access, clamping references and secondary features be defined?

What matters
to your team?
Define the functional interfaces.
Define the installed relationship before specifying a tight angle or face control. Identify which component provides the final location in the assembly.
Discuss your engineering requirementsMake the quotation comparable.
Confirm whether the scope includes hardware or assembly trials. Compare finishing and inspection assumptions as carefully as the machined outline.
Discuss your purchasing requirementsAgree the acceptance evidence.
Use the same face references for supplier and receiving checks. Keep dimensional evidence separate from a trial that confirms access with particular tools.
Discuss your quality requirements03 / A PART-SPECIFIC REVIEW
From feature
to machining brief.
01Explain the installed condition
Provide a section or assembly model showing both mating surfaces. Identify whether the plate locates another component, supports it or simply connects already located parts.
02Review geometry and finished contacts
Confirm the aluminum grade and any surface treatment. Review critical face relationships, opening geometry and the condition of contact surfaces after finishing, including masking if required.
03Agree fit and dimensional checks
Identify the face relationships and opening dimensions to record. Where access is important, define a trial assembly with the intended hardware and tools rather than a general fit approval.
04 / BEFORE SAMPLE APPROVAL
Agree what
acceptance will show.
Measure specified face relationships and opening geometry from the drawing references.
Inspect contact faces and required edge breaks in the finished condition.
Record nominated fastener-access or assembly checks when included in acceptance.
