Choose the part by its interfaces, then define the variant

The sleeve reference brings a central opening, outside steps, threaded features and lateral openings onto one cylindrical body. The flange-base reference uses a raised body, central opening and mounting areas. Select the closer reference to explain your enquiry, then identify the surfaces and features that must connect to your own assembly. A drawing number and revision give each requested variant a clear purchasing identity.

Send the surrounding assembly view when it explains access or orientation. Identify the mating parts and state whether they are supplied for an agreed sample check. Keep separate variants as separate enquiry positions, even when they share a material or a similar outline. The supplier can then discuss each interface without losing the distinction between a sleeve requirement and a mounting-body requirement.

Specify the ABS designation and delivered condition

Both manufacturer references name ABS. For your order, provide the exact material designation required by the design and identify any requested material document. State the delivered condition, colour and appearance requirements together with the areas to which they apply. Put these requirements beside the drawing revision so the quotation addresses the same part definition as the later sample review.

Ask the supplier to identify any material question that remains open before the quotation is accepted. If a particular grade is mandatory, keep its designation in the enquiry instead of using a broad plastic label. Treat requested finishing, marking or protective handling as part of the scope to be agreed. The confirmed material and delivery requirements should remain available with repeat-order records.

Describe locating, fastening and access features together

For a sleeve, show the inside profile, shoulders and threaded areas on the same section view. Name the axial reference used for seating and the reference needed to orient a side opening. For a mounting base, show the mounting faces and hole pattern together with the central opening. Mark whether a feature locates the component, provides clearance or gives installation access.

Provide the complete thread designation wherever a thread is required. Show adjacent reliefs and the edge condition expected at intersections. A drawing review is easier when the important feature can be related to its mating component and checking method. Keep the responsible design team’s functional requirements distinct from the supplier’s proposed route for making and checking the requested geometry.

Build a sample plan from the important characteristics

Number the characteristics that matter for the first sample. Describe the required part condition, the expected record and the rule used to accept each result. Where a trial assembly is requested, identify the mating pieces and its purpose. A dimensional record and an assembly trial can support different decisions, so list their deliverables separately in the enquiry.

Keep the sample identity, drawing revision and unresolved items together. Ask how the proposed checking scope will be described in the quotation, including any separately needed tooling or documents. Resolve changes through the agreed revision process before ordering the next quantity. This gives purchasing a clear way to compare the requested scope with the response.

Plan protection around the actual geometry

A sleeve with threaded ends and side openings has different handling points from a raised mounting body. Mark surfaces or edges that need protection and describe how parts will be removed for incoming inspection. If individual separation, caps or a particular inner container are required, include that request with the component drawing and the intended delivered condition.

Agree the identification carried by the packing unit and its connection to the ordered revision. State any restrictions relevant to the next operation, such as requirements for handling or residue. Ask for a proposed packing arrangement when your drawing leaves it open. The approved arrangement can then be retained with the other order requirements for the same part.

Send one complete ABS procurement enquiry

Include the drawing, material designation, sample requirement and later quantity options. Add the mating-interface information, requested records and packing requirements. Highlight open decisions in a short list so the supplier can address them in the technical review. Your enquiry should show which items are mandatory and where an alternative proposal may be considered.

Use the reference links below to choose the closer geometry, then request a drawing review for your own part. Ask for the proposed manufacturing and checking scope to be stated with the commercial terms. Confirmed answers belong with the controlled drawing and purchasing record, giving the sample order and later order the same agreed technical starting point.

Procurement questions

Which ABS geometries can I use as references?

The linked Chengshuo references are a stepped bolt sleeve and a flange mounting base. Choose the closer geometry and send the drawing for your own requirement.

How should I specify the material?

Provide the exact ABS designation, delivered condition and any required material document. Name appearance requirements and the affected surfaces.

What belongs in a sleeve drawing?

Show the inside profile, outside locating features, thread requirements, seating reference and the location of lateral openings.

What belongs in a mounting-base enquiry?

Include the mounting faces, central opening, fixing-feature pattern and mating-part information. Mark the features controlling installation and location.

How do I request sample records?

Number the important characteristics and agree the checking condition and result format. Identify any trial assembly and its supplied mating pieces separately.

What should I send to request a quotation?

Send the controlled drawing, material designation, quantity options, sample requirements and requested records. Add packing and delivered-condition requirements.
